The Český Krumlov Christmas market takes place on a single square, náměstí Svornosti, in a historic centre listed by UNESCO. The 2026 edition opens on 21 November 2026 and runs until 3 January 2027, every day. The town’s tourist association organises the market. The Town, the municipal theatre and the tourist office run the Advent programme around the square.
One square, a tree and weekend concerts
The market is small. The tourist office does not publish the number of stalls, and we do not estimate it. The stalls sell food, souvenirs and small gifts. At weekends, concerts liven up the square: bands on Friday and Saturday, a family programme on Sunday. Since 2024, three-dimensional light installations have decorated the centre: a two-metre horse, a she-bear and her cub. An angel procession is one of the regular events. Every autumn, CzechTourism, the national tourism agency, includes Český Krumlov in its selection of Czech Christmas markets to visit.
2026 opening hours
From Friday to Sunday, the stalls open from 10am to 7pm. From Monday to Thursday, 11am to 6pm. The tourist office published these hours together with the 2026 dates. Past editions followed a similar calendar: from 22 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, and from 29 November 2024 to 6 January 2025, with the tree lit on Sunday 1 December 2024.
The 2026 Advent programme
The tourist office has already dated the season’s events:
- From 28 November to 6 December, the Ježíškova pošta, the Baby Jesus post office, and the arrival of the White Lady.
- On 4 December, a Krampuslauf, a Krampus parade, at Port 1560.
- On 5 December, the Mikulášská nadílka: St Nicholas hands out his gifts.
- On 23 December, a living nativity (Živý betlém).
- On 24 December, the Medvědí Vánoce: the castle bears receive their presents.
- On 6 January, Epiphany closes the season.

Our tip
Come at the weekend: the stalls open an hour earlier and close an hour later than on weekdays, and the concerts take place on Friday and Saturday. With children, aim for Sunday, set aside for families, or 5 December for St Nicholas.
