We collect the bare minimum, and we tell you exactly what, how, and for how long. This site uses no advertising tracking tools, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no profiling. Anonymous, cookie-free audience measurement, and third-party services that only load with your consent.
Who is responsible for processing
The data controller is the site publisher, StartingUP (GST LABS), who can be reached at bonjour@marches-de-noel.fr. See our legal notice for details.
What data we collect
Anonymous audience measurement
To find out which pages are read, we use Matomo, installed on our own server: no data is passed on to a third party. Measurement works without cookies, your IP address is anonymised (the last two bytes are masked) and your browser's “Do Not Track” setting is respected. These statistics are aggregated and are only used to improve the site.
Minimal technical data
Our server keeps standard access logs containing your IP address, the URL visited, the browser used and the date and time of the request. These logs are kept for 30 days at most, for security purposes (attack detection) and technical diagnostics. They are not used for behavioural analysis.
If you email us
When you contact us via bonjour@marches-de-noel.fr, your email address and the content of your message are kept for as long as is needed to handle your request. We do not use them for any other purpose (newsletter, marketing, resale).
If you use the form on a listing or an article
Every listing and every article ends with a form for writing to us. It collects the reason for your request, your first name (optional), your email address, your message and the page concerned. We receive this data by email and keep it for as long as it takes to handle your request. We use it for nothing else.
Cookies and third-party services
On your first visit, a banner asks for your consent to third-party services. Until you accept, no third-party service loads. You can change your mind at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page.
Site cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| mn_consent | Remembers your choice about third-party services | 6 months |
| wordpress_* | WordPress technical session (only if you log in to the admin area) | Session |
| wp-settings-* | Admin display preferences (only when logged in) | 1 year |
Third-party services, subject to your consent
| Service | Use on the site | What happens if you accept |
|---|---|---|
| Stay22 | Accommodation maps on the market pages and partner links to booking platforms | Stay22 may set cookies and receive browsing data (IP address, page viewed) to display accommodation and attribute any commission |
| YouTube (Google) | Videos embedded in some articles, in privacy-enhanced mode | YouTube may set cookies or use your browser's storage when the video loads |
If you decline, the maps and videos are replaced by a placeholder that lets you display them later, and partner links remain ordinary links.
Links to third-party sites
The site contains links to external platforms (accommodation, transport and activity booking platforms, tourist office websites, etc.). When you click on these links, you leave our site and become subject to the privacy policies of those third parties, over which we have no control. We recommend you read them.
Some links are affiliate links, managed by our partner Stay22: they may pass an identifier to the destination platform so that we receive a commission if you make a booking. None of your personal data is transmitted through these links.
Hosting and data location
The site and all associated data, audience measurement included, are hosted in France, with o2switch (Clermont-Ferrand). The third-party services you accept (Stay22, YouTube) process their data under their own policies, possibly outside the European Union.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Right of access: to know what data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: to request the deletion of your data
- Right to object: to refuse the processing of your data
- Right to data portability: to receive your data in a readable format
- Right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr)
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at bonjour@marches-de-noel.fr. We will reply within 30 days at most.
