The Rouffach Christmas market takes over the Place de la République on two weekends a year, 5 and 6 then 12 and 13 December 2026, for its 46th edition. Around fifty exhibitors gather there under the name Marché de Noël de l’artisanat et des traditions (the crafts and traditions Christmas market), in the heart of the historic centre of this small wine-country town between Colmar and Guebwiller. Entry is free, Saturday runs until 8pm and the TER railway station is a kilometre from the stalls.
Around fifty craftspeople on the Place de la République
The market lives up to its name. Crafts fill the whole visitor route: pottery, scroll-saw woodwork, decorative arrangements, jewellery and original creations. Exhibitors come to show their know-how as much as their goods, and talking with them is part of the visit. For gifts, home decorations and treats to take back, the selection is enough to fill a basket.
On the food side, the menu stays Alsatian: sauerkraut, soup, roasted chestnuts, bredele biscuits, waffles and crêpes, with mulled wine to go with it all. If you want to know what is simmering in the cauldron, we have detailed mulled wine and its variations.
Entertainment on both weekends
The 2026 programme thinks of families first. Over the two weekends, the square hosts:
- The street show “Le Noël des bergers” (the shepherds’ Christmas).
- Street entertainment by the company Les Artventuriers.
- The exhibition and competition “La Galerie des Petits Lutins”.
- Music from a choir.
- Christmas face painting for children.
Toilets are available on site. The Pays d’Eguisheim et de Rouffach tourist office has its desk at 12A Place de la République, on the market itself: handy for a question about opening times or a map of the town.

Getting to Rouffach by train, then on to Eguisheim and Colmar
Rouffach is one of the wine-route villages served by rail: the TER station is on the Strasbourg, Colmar, Mulhouse line. From Colmar the journey takes 7 minutes, with around twenty direct trains on Saturday and eight on Sunday. From Strasbourg, allow 40 to 46 minutes direct, sixteen trains on Saturday and six on Sunday. From Mulhouse, 16 to 18 minutes at the quickest. The Fluo 830 coach also links Colmar, Eguisheim and Rouffach. The Christmas shuttles from Colmar station stop at Eguisheim (line 3), and for Rouffach the train does the job.
By car, the neighbours can be visited in the same day: Eguisheim Christmas market is 11 minutes away, Guebwiller’s 15 minutes, Colmar 18 minutes and Turckheim 19 minutes, outside the traffic that builds up on December weekends. One possible Saturday: Rouffach at the 11am opening, Eguisheim in the afternoon, then Colmar at the end of the day once the lights are on.
Our tip
Come by train on Saturday: the station is a kilometre from the market, direct trains from Colmar are frequent and you can enjoy the opening until 8pm without hunting for a parking space.
