The Levi Christmas market is held at Hissitie 8, next to Zero Point, at the foot of the resort’s front slopes, in the municipality of Kittilä, in Finnish Lapland. Visit Levi has published the 2026-2027 edition: from 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, every day from 12pm to 5pm, with a set of rules for the season’s exhibitors. It is the only Christmas market in Lapland whose 2026 dates cover the whole festive period; the others last a day or two, or have no dates yet.

2026-2027 dates and opening hours

The event page gives opening every day from 12pm to 5pm, from 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027. On 24 December the market closes at 3pm; on 25 December it is closed, though exhibitors are free to open. Monday is maintenance day: some exhibitors may be absent, and trading remains allowed. The market also closes when the temperature drops below -20 °C.

The 2026-2027 rules set 12pm to 5pm as the compulsory hours of attendance: some stalls open earlier or close later. The “Christmas in Levi” page on the same site announces 10am to 6pm while the detailed hours are awaited, and different hours from 24 to 26 December.

On 24 December 2026 at 3pm, the Declaration of Christmas Peace is read at Zero Point, as the market closes.

A market at the foot of the slopes

The stalls occupy the Zero Point area, below Levi’s front slopes. Visit Levi publishes neither the number of stalls nor the name of the organiser; exhibitors register with the resort’s events department, which has published the 2026-2027 rules. We will complete this listing once those figures are known.

Up on the fell, Santa’s Cabin is reachable all year round, on skis, on snowshoes or by gondola, between slopes W.3 and 13.2. Visit Levi publishes no dated appointment with Santa at the cabin: it is a place for photos.

Getting to Levi for the holidays

Finavia also confirms a Finnair route between Brussels and Kittilä for the winter (starting on 2 December with two flights a week, according to the trade press); a Finnair Zurich-Kittilä flight from 3 December, on Thursdays and Saturdays, is announced only by the trade press.

By train, VR’s night train links Helsinki to Kolari, 80 km from Levi, with a connecting bus; private cabin from €59.

The market is best visited as part of a stay at the resort. Our Christmas in Lapland guide gathers the 2026 dates for the whole region and the direct flights. Between Levi and Ylläs, the SnowVillage reopens on 25 December 2026. In Rovaniemi, the Santa Claus Village is open every day.

Our tip

Monday is maintenance day and some exhibitors may be missing: pick another day to see the market in full. Have another activity in mind if the temperature drops below -20 °C, as the market then closes. On 24 December, arrive before 3pm for the Declaration of Christmas Peace at Zero Point.
