The Calvi Christmas market, Natale in Calvi, takes place on Place Christophe-Colomb, in the lower town. The town council organises it. As of 8 October 2026, it had published no dates for the 2026 edition. The information below comes from the 2025 edition, which ran from 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.
Place Christophe-Colomb, covered ice rink and Santa’s cabin
The 2025 Christmas village brought together Santa’s cabin, the chalets of Calvi’s shopkeepers, an open stage for performers and a covered ice rink. The council let four wooden food chalets, and the town’s shopkeepers ran the others. Their number is not published.
Dates and opening hours of the 2025 edition
The market opened from 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, from midday according to the council’s programme. The chalets ran from 18 to 31 December, then on 3 January for the City Trail. The specifications allowed the chalets to open from 10am to midnight, with closing at 9pm on 31 December. The 2025 call for chalet applications came out on 5 November 2025: the council announces its market late in the autumn.
Parade, concerts and fireworks: the 2025 programme
The official opening took place on 18 December at 6pm, with a concert. The next day, the Christmas parade set off at 4.30pm with more than twenty characters and a horse-drawn carriage. The programme went on with:
- children’s workshops and donkey rides;
- the “Canti di a Notte Santa” concert at the church of Sainte-Marie-Majeure, on 21 December;
- a fireworks show on 28 December;
- the City Trail and a concert on 3 January, the day the chalets reopened.
Calvi also keeps a Christmas tradition: u focu di Natale, the fire lit in front of the church, on Rue Clemenceau, as in many of the island’s villages. The 2025 programme ended with the Corsican New Year greeting, Pace è Salute.
Figatellu, Corsican soup and mulled wine
The 2025 specifications set the menu of the four municipal chalets: figatellu, Corsican soup, chestnuts, crêpes, waffles, pastries, candyfloss and mulled wine, alongside pizzas, paninis and hot dogs. Champagne was among the drinks.
2026 dates: nothing published to date
We have reread the articles published on the council’s website since 1 June 2026: none of them mentions Natale in Calvi 2026. The call to shopkeepers for the 2025 chalets came out on 5 November 2025, and the 2026 announcement is expected around the same time. The dates stay empty on this page, and the hours shown are those of 2025. We will update it as soon as the calendar is published.
Getting to Calvi
Calvi-Sainte-Catherine airport is 8 km from the square, a dozen minutes by road. Public service flights link Paris-Orly, Marseille and Nice to Calvi all year round. The Chemins de fer de la Corse station is less than 500 m from Place Christophe-Colomb: the train comes in from Bastia in around 3 hours, with a change at Ponte-Leccia, and a line also connects Ajaccio. The winter timetable, after 1 November 2026, has not yet appeared.
By road, Bastia is 92 km away (nearly two hours) and Ajaccio 163 km (nearly three hours), times calculated without traffic. By ferry, Corsica Ferries links Toulon to L’Île-Rousse in around 7 hours; the company has no route to Calvi itself.
- The Bastia Christmas market, from 10 to 23 December 2026, is at the other end of the railway line.
- The Ajaccio Christmas market opens from 4 to 24 December 2026, with 58 chalets and an ice rink in 2025.
- If you arrive via Toulon, the Toulon Christmas market is in your port of departure.
Our tip
Keep an eye on the council’s website from early November: in 2025, the call for chalets came out on 5 November and the programme in early December. If the 2026 edition follows the 2025 rhythm, aim for the first weekend: official opening on the Thursday evening, parade on the Friday.
